| Fall 2009 awards now posted! And a letter. |
[Oct. 2nd, 2009|12:58 am] |
After deciding to forego the voting round and to award as many as possible, awards for nominees with two or more nods in the canon, original, and general categories are now posted! Congratulations to all winners, and we want to express our wholehearted appreciation to everyone who nominated someone as well. This concludes our Fall 2009 award cycle here at Exemplar. ( Unfortunately, it is with a great deal of regret that we have decided this will be our final cycle. ) In closing, we would like to again extend congratulations to all our winners and participants, past and present. We could not have run this community without your support, and we hope you will continue to enjoy both creating your own work and reading that of others. In a way, that is the fairest and most genuine manner of recognition. Exemplar Moderators exemplar.awards@gmail.com |

| we're back! |
[Aug. 17th, 2009|01:13 am] |
Hello! Remember us?
We took your suggestions from the Spring 2009 award cycle under consideration, and within a few days, we'll be putting up nomination posts for the Fall 2009 cycle. However, there have been a few changes to the "system" this time around. These changes will be explained in a new rules post before nominations go up, but for a quick preview for how we envision things working out this time, please read below!
• To avoid repetitiveness, we've decided to change up some of the categories for this cycle. Categories used in Spring 2009, such as "best canon female," will return for Spring 2010. This time, for the individual awards, we'll be using a more high school yearbook type of approach, such as "best ____," "most likely to ____," and "____iest." Many relationship awards, such as "best hetero/homosexual relationship" will be returning, as well as some new additions, such as "best bromance." Writing awards, such as "best narrative," will also be returning with new additions. Finally, game and mod awards will be included.
• Rather than split awards by DC and Marvel, we've decided to split by canon and original characters (OCs.) Please note that only comic-based games will be eligible for these awards. Movie games based on comics are eligible.
• There will be slight changes to the nomination and voting rules, to be announced in a separate post.
• VERY IMPORTANT: Only comments made with OOC journals will be counted, both for nominations and voting. This minimizes the chances of one person submitting more than one vote per category. If you comment or vote with an IC journal (and we consider moderator journals "IC journals"), your input will be ignored. No exceptions will be made. You can create a free account by clicking here.
That's it for now. Thanks to your participation, our first cycle was a success! Here's hoping for another good round.
